나는 모든 것을 이겼고 모든 것을 알았다.

나는 일체의 제법(諸法)에 물들여지지 않았고 모든 것을 버렸다.

갈애 [渴愛]가 다하고 해탈을 얻었다.

스스로 깨달았으니 누구를 스승으로 칭하랴?

나에게 스승이 없다. 나와 비견할 자도 없다.

천신을 포함하여 이 세상에 나와 같은 자는 없다.

어떤 자도 나와 동등하지 못하다.

나는 이 세상에서 존경받아야 할 사람이다.

나는 無上의 스승이다.

나는 홀로 모든 것을 바르게 깨달아 청정하고 적정한 경지에 이르렀다.

나는 법륜을 굴리기 위해 카시의 도성으로 간다.

어두운 이 세상에 불멸의 북을 울리기 위해.

I have overcome all foes;

I am all-wise;

I am free from stains in every way;

I have left everything;

and have obtained emanipaction by the destruction of desire.

Having myself gained knowledge,

whom should I call my master?

I have no teacher;

no one is equal to me;

in the world of men and of gods no being is like me.

I am the holy One in this world,

I am the highest teacher,

I alone am the absolute Sambuddha;

I have gained coolness (by the extinction of all passion)

and have obtained Nirvana.

To found the Kingdom of Truth

I go the city of the Kasis;

I will beat the drum of the Immortal in the darkness of this world.
